Fermat was wrong...

I recently found a counter example for Fermats last theorem with exponent 7:

3472073 ^ 7 + 4627011 ^ 7 = 4710868 ^ 7

You can easily check this with your pocket calculator.

So Andrew Wiles "proof" of FLT must be wrong.

  1. OK, for those who didn't recognize this as a joke, here are the exact Values:

    3472073^7 + 4627011^7 = 51488062237908262117164432659695107942546091268
    4710868^7 = 51488062237908262117145710842129274774286712832

The first 21 Digits of the result match. Computing (3472073^7 + 4627011^7) / 4710868^7 gives 1.000000000000000000000363614724503055117 which is slightly larger than 1, the supposed result of the division. The errors order of magnitude is somewhat around 3.636 * 10^-22, much less than the usual pocket calculator can handle.
